On the "Home" page you can get a quick overview about the network configuration of your IPFire.

In the first place it lists the ip addresses (and the network masks) of your local network interfaces
(Green, Blue, Orange), as well as Proxy-settings for the listed networks.

The information about the Red interface is quite detailed:

  • The look differs between static and DHCP setup. In those you cannot (dis)connect your internet link. If you use some dial-up connection (ppp / pppoe etc.) you can change your dial-in profile or disconnect or connect your internet connection.
  • Additionally the IP Address, Hostname and the default gateway are listed.

The VPN-Section also offers more information. For example it will show you for every IPSec-connection, if it is connected Green, or unavailable Red or completely deactivated: Blue. OpenVPN shows the IP of your virtual Gateway and if the OpenVPN daemon is running or not.

Notifications

At the lower left corner of the Home page may display important information. Notifications and/or references to the system, such as full disks, are generated.
