Most computers or other devices with an ethernet port (Digitalboxes like Nokia with Linux on it) can be activated with Wake-on-LAN (WOL). This enables you to activate a computer in the cellar (for example a Media Server), a remote NAS (Network Attached Storage) or a Nokia DBox (for recording television) with your IPFire.

Simply put in the MAC address of the device, choose the interface of your IPFire the device is connected to and press Add.

With a click on the lamp

next to the device name it will be switched on.

It is likely that you will have to activate WOL in the BIOS settings of your device first.
