This section offers the possibility for an intentional modification of the HTTP-Header information. This may be useful for the anonymization of the own data and thus provides more privacy protection.
Fake useragent submitted to external sites: = (header_replace User-Agent) replaces the actually used web browser User-Agent string by the defined one. The web browser user agent contains information about the used operating system, browser, software versions and language settings, thus server-side scripting can deliver customized content accordingly.
Example of a web browser User-Agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:18.104.22.168) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10
Fake referrer submitted to external sites: = (header_replace Referer) In the referrer field, the source URL of the referring page is included. By clicking on links, the source URL is transmitted by the browser to the server. With a modification of this field, the source URL is rendered anonymous by the corresponding string.
|This can cause problems with web pages since anonymous referrer sites are often blocked.|
